TikTok suspended the account because it found your ads or account out of line with its advertising policies. That happens when Account Health reaches Poor, which can follow a run of warnings or come at once when a violation is severe. Every ad in the account stops. On a first violation, TikTok gives you 30 days to fix the issues or submit an appeal; if the issues remain or the appeal is rejected after 30 days, the suspension becomes permanent and can't be appealed. Appeal once, by ticket from TikTok Ads Manager, expect a reply within two business days, and don't create another ad account while it is under review.
Curve Compliance helps you get the conversions your site sends TikTok right. Curve's team reviews what your website sends to Meta, Google and TikTok with you and shows what's likely triggering the flag. Curve then rebuilds your conversion tracking so it's HIPAA-compliant and keeps campaigns optimizing, sending conversions server-side to TikTok, Meta Conversions API, Google Ads, Microsoft and LinkedIn, and it detects PHI-like patterns before data reaches an ad platform. Why TikTok suspends healthcare ad accounts
When an account is suspended, TikTok shows a notification in Ads Manager that says "Your account has been suspended". TikTok lists five common reasons:
- "We received reports or complaints about your account from people on TikTok or other channels."
- "There are problems with your ad content, or qualifications or services provided in your ads." For a clinic, check the 18+ age restriction and proof of certification first.
- "You made changes to your ad's landing page after creating a campaign." Swapping the landing page on a live campaign is enough.
- "There is malicious behavior or intent suspected during ad creation."
- "There is a violation of the TikTok Advertising Guidelines or other standards."
What TikTok's healthcare policy requires in the US
TikTok updated its Healthcare and Pharmaceuticals policy in September 2026, and its US section is more open than many older guides suggest. Prescription medicine "May be allowed" if you "Provide proof of approval and certification from appropriate local regional regulating authorities, such as the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA)" and restrict the ads to people 18 or older. Cosmetic clinics, cosmetic surgeries and medical institutions may be allowed if they comply with local laws and target 18+, and medical institutions may also need certifications. Pharmacies need "proof of certification by a third-party licensing organization, such as the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP) or LegitScript, or regional equivalent."
Outside the US, many markets list prescription medicine as "Not allowed", so check every country a campaign targets. For the ad-level rules, see what TikTok's health rules allow for clinics.
Check Account Health before you appeal
In TikTok Ads Manager, go to Tools, then Account setup, then Account Health. The status is Good, Attention needed, Restricted or Poor, and Poor means the account is suspended. The Ad group status section names the ad groups that broke a policy and which policy each one broke; select View ad group details for the specifics. TikTok notes that if health "changes from Good to Poor without going through Attention Needed or Restricted, there might be outstanding payment issues or other risks". Fix every flagged ad group and landing page before you write the appeal.
How to appeal
TikTok's appeal runs through a support ticket. If you believe ad groups were flagged in error and you have a TikTok Sales Representative, TikTok says you have the option to work with them or submit an appeal on your own.
- Sign in to the suspended account in TikTok Ads Manager and click the ? Help icon.
- In Ad Assistant, click Submit ticket.
- Under Issue Category, choose Account/Ad Review, then Account Review, then Account Suspension Appeal.
- Provide the details: what was flagged, what you changed in each ad group and landing page, and the certification the policy asks for. Click Submit.
- Wait for the email. TikTok says "You should receive a reply within two business days" and asks you to "only file one appeal for each incident", because filing several for the same issue "will lead to delays in processing."
While the account is suspended
Watch the clock. TikTok's troubleshooting article says an appeal filed more than 180 days after the suspension won't be reviewed, but its suspension overview gives a first violation 30 days before the suspension becomes permanent. Work to the 30 days.
Admins and Operators can still change the delivery status of campaigns, ad groups and ads, but no other settings, and you lose access to features like transferring and accessing pixels. Suspended agency accounts can't create new ad accounts or add money. TikTok says the stopped ads "will return to their original status after the account suspension is lifted."
TikTok is explicit: "Avoid creating any new ad accounts while your appeal is being reviewed." The reasoning for every platform is in should we open a new ad account after a restriction?. If Meta or Google has acted too, start with Meta disabled our ad account or Google Ads suspended our healthcare account.

Frequently asked questions
How long does a TikTok ad account suspension last?
It depends on severity. On a first violation the suspension is temporary, and you have 30 days to fix the issues or appeal. If the issues remain or the appeal is rejected after 30 days, TikTok makes the suspension permanent, and that decision can't be appealed.
How long does a TikTok suspension appeal take?
TikTok says you should receive a reply within two business days of submitting the appeal, and it emails you when the review is done.
Can we open a new TikTok ad account while we appeal?
No. TikTok says to avoid creating any new ad accounts while your appeal is being reviewed, and suspended agency accounts can't create new ad accounts at all.
Can a US clinic advertise prescription treatment on TikTok?
TikTok's US policy says prescription medicine may be allowed with proof of approval and certification from the appropriate regulators, such as the FDA, and with ads restricted to people 18 or older. Many other markets don't allow it, so check each country you target.
