The best AI visibility tools for healthcare check the questions patients actually ask AI assistants, keep patient data out of those checks, and connect AI answers to booked appointments, and Curve Compliance's AI Visibility is built to do all three. Other AI visibility tools include Profound, AthenaHQ, Peec AI, Otterly.AI, the Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit, Ahrefs Brand Radar, Scrunch and Conductor, each described below in its own words from its own website, opened November 2, 2026. AI Visibility is a feature in Curve Compliance, and Curve also offers it as a managed service.

What a healthcare team should look for

A general marketing tool answers one question: does AI name the brand? A healthcare team needs more. Patients ask about a condition or a provider near them, answers can get your services or insurance wrong, and the result that pays for the work is a booked appointment. These checks matter most:

What to checkWhy it matters in healthcareWhat to ask the vendor
What leaves your systemsTracking AI answers needs no patient data. What exactly is sent to the assistants, and is each question screened for PHI first?
Competitors and sourcesPatients compare you with other practices before they book.Does it show where competitors are named and I am not, and which sources AI cites?
Visits and bookingsA mention matters when it brings patients who book. Can it show visits from AI answers and the bookings they led to?
AccuracyAn answer can list an old address or the wrong insurance.Does it catch what AI gets wrong about my practice?
Clinician timeMedical pages need clinical review. Is the plan sized to what my clinicians can publish?

Google's guidance is a useful filter when a vendor makes big claims: “No third-party tool has access to our internal ranking or AI systems.” (Google Search Central). A good AI visibility tool asks the assistants the same questions your patients ask and records what comes back, with no claim to inside access.

Curve Compliance AI Visibility

AI Visibility shows how often AI assistants, including ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode, Perplexity, Claude and Gemini, name and cite your practice for the questions your patients ask. Here is what it does for a healthcare team:

  • Bookings, not only mentions. It ties AI answers to the visits and bookings they bring you.
  • Built for healthcare. Only the marketing question you track is sent to AI assistants, screened for PHI first, and never anything about a patient. Curve is SOC 2 Type II and signs a BAA on every plan.
  • A roadmap your clinicians can keep up with. It turns what it finds into a weekly roadmap sized to what your clinicians can publish, with medical topics flagged for clinical review.
  • A managed service. Curve's team can run it for you as a managed service.
  • Accuracy. It catches what AI gets wrong about your practice, so you can correct it on the pages AI reads.
  • Competitors and sources. It shows where competitors are named and you aren't, who leads each topic, and which sources AI cites.
  • Whether AI can read your site. It checks whether AI search can read your site, and what to fix.

Other AI visibility tools, in their own words

Each summary below uses only the vendor's own website, opened November 2, 2026. Vendors update their pages often, so read the current page before you decide.

Profound

Profound calls itself “The AI marketing platform”. Its homepage offers “an AI Marketer trained on what consumers prompt, what agents cite, and the context only your teams have”, with features to “Know what people are asking AI”, “Understand what AI says back” and “Verify the accuracy of AI claims”. Profound lists solutions for AEO teams, content teams, PR and brand teams and agencies, and an industry page for pharmaceuticals (Profound). See Profound alternatives for healthcare.

AthenaHQ

AthenaHQ's healthcare page opens with “Patients ask AI before they Google.” It says AthenaHQ can “Monitor how AI represents your medical services, treatments, and clinical capabilities” and “supports multi-location tracking so you can monitor AI visibility for each facility, provider group, or specialty across your entire health system.” On patient data it says: “AthenaHQ's brand monitoring does not process or store protected health information (PHI). We monitor publicly available AI outputs and your public-facing content.” (AthenaHQ healthcare page). See AthenaHQ alternatives for healthcare.

Peec AI

Peec AI describes itself as “AI search analytics for marketing teams” and tracks visibility, position and sentiment. It defines visibility as the “share of chats where your brand is mentioned”. On cadence it says: “Peec AI executes each prompt once every 24 hours on every AI model you've selected.” You can filter results by model, country and prompt tags (Peec AI). See Peec AI alternatives for healthcare.

Otterly.AI

Otterly.AI says it helps you “Analyze how AI search engines mention, and cite your brand”. Its feature list covers prompt research, AI search analytics, brand profiling, AI search optimization and agent analytics, with solutions for agencies and for marketing teams (Otterly.AI). See Otterly.AI alternatives for healthcare.

Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit

Semrush says “The Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit shows you how brands appear in AI-generated answers” and that it “is built with SMBs, agencies, and mid-market companies in mind.” Its Prompt Tracking lets you “Monitor your visibility for specific, high-value prompts on platforms like Google AI Mode and ChatGPT”, and its Brand Performance reports cover share of voice, sentiment and the narratives behind a brand's reputation (Semrush Knowledge Base). See the Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit compared with Curve.

Ahrefs Brand Radar

Ahrefs says Brand Radar helps you “Study how your brand shows up in AI”. It works two ways. Prompt Tracking lets you “Track the exact questions your buyers ask”, and the AI Visibility Index lets you “See any brand’s AI visibility instantly across 525 million prompts.” (Ahrefs). See Ahrefs Brand Radar compared with Curve.

Scrunch

Scrunch calls itself “The AI Customer Experience Platform”. Its Monitoring and Citations feature is there to help you “Know how your brand shows up in AI.” Its Agent Pages aim to “Deliver an optimized experience to AI agents.” Scrunch also lists agent traffic analysis and site optimization (Scrunch). See Scrunch alternatives for healthcare.

Conductor

Conductor describes itself as an “all-in-one enterprise AEO platform”. It says you can track your brand's visibility in AI and traditional search “and connect that presence directly to traffic, conversions, and revenue.” (Conductor).

How to choose

  • Start with your patients' questions. List the questions patients ask before they book, by service and by place.
  • Decide what counts as a result. Mentions show reach. Bookings show whether AI answers bring patients. See what AI visibility is and how it is measured.
  • Ask what leaves your systems. A tool that connects AI answers to visits and bookings touches the same data as any healthcare tracking. HHS says “tracking technology vendors are business associates if they create, receive, maintain, or transmit PHI on behalf of a regulated entity” (HHS). See HIPAA-compliant AI visibility tracking.
  • Match the work to your clinicians. A plan that asks for more pages than your team can review will stall.
  • Pick software, a service or both. Curve offers AI Visibility as a feature in Curve and as a managed service.

Whether a given tool needs a business associate agreement (BAA) depends on what it receives, so talk to your counsel.

What This Looks Like in Practice

In one AI Visibility program we've run, for a HIPAA-focused healthcare software brand, Curve's team tracked the questions buyers ask AI assistants, found where competitors were named and the brand wasn't, and published pages to close those gaps. About five weeks in:

  • AI assistants named or cited the brand in 53% of their answers to its 40 core buyer questions (104 of 196), across ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode, Perplexity and Claude.
  • Across 184 real buyer questions and 912 AI answers, its site was cited in 236 answers, more than any competitor's and more than 2.5 times as many as the nearest one (89).
  • 47 of the new pages were already cited by AI assistants within six days of going live.
  • One new page brought in more than half of the brand's unpaid ChatGPT visits in its first week.

How Curve Compliance helps

AI Visibility is a feature in Curve Compliance, and Curve also offers it as a managed service. With the managed service, Curve's team sets up your questions, competitors and topics, writes the pages on your roadmap, and makes the technical fixes that help AI assistants read your site. Your clinicians review and approve anything medical before it goes live.

If your developer manages your site, Curve's team hands them the exact fixes. Each month, Curve's team walks you through your results on a call and sends a one-page report.

Curve signs a BAA on every plan (Directory entry) and is SOC 2 Type II. AI Visibility is available on request: book a call to get started. See the AI Visibility managed service.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the best AI visibility tools for healthcare?

The best ones track the questions patients ask, keep patient data out of the checks and tie AI answers to bookings, which is what Curve Compliance's AI Visibility is built to do. Other tools include Profound, AthenaHQ, Peec AI, Otterly.AI, the Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit, Ahrefs Brand Radar, Scrunch and Conductor.

What is an AI visibility tool?

A tool that asks AI assistants the questions your buyers ask, records the answers and shows how often you are named and cited compared with competitors. See what AI visibility is.

Which AI assistants should a clinic track?

Track the assistants your patients use for health questions. OpenAI says “More than 40 million turn to ChatGPT every day with healthcare questions” (OpenAI), and Google shows AI Overviews and AI Mode in search. Curve's AI Visibility covers ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode, Perplexity, Claude and Gemini.

Does an AI visibility tool need a BAA?

It depends on what the tool receives. Asking an assistant a general question needs no patient data, but a tool that connects AI answers to visits and bookings handles the same data as any healthcare tracking, and HHS treats a tracking technology vendor that receives PHI on your behalf as a business associate (HHS). Curve signs a BAA on every plan.

Can an AI visibility tool show bookings from AI?

Some can. Curve's AI Visibility ties AI answers to the visits and bookings they bring you, and it measures what each published piece changes.

How often should AI answers be checked?

Often enough to see a trend, because one answer is a weak measure. With Curve's AI Visibility, every week you get a plain-language summary of what changed, and a one-page report to share.

Is there a managed AI visibility service for healthcare?

Yes. Curve's team can run AI Visibility for you as a managed service. Each month, Curve's team walks you through your results on a call and sends a one-page report. See the AI Visibility managed service.

Does Curve's AI Visibility send patient data to AI assistants?

No. AI Visibility asks AI assistants only the marketing questions you track, screened for PHI first, never anything about a patient.
