The Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit and Curve Compliance's AI Visibility both show how brands appear in AI answers, but Semrush designed its toolkit for SEOs and marketers, while Curve's AI Visibility is built for healthcare: it shows how often AI assistants name and cite your practice for the questions your patients ask, and ties those answers to the visits and bookings they bring you. Semrush says its toolkit “shows you how brands appear in AI-generated answers” and is “built with SMBs, agencies, and mid-market companies in mind” (Semrush). AI Visibility is a feature in Curve Compliance, and Curve also offers it as a managed service. This guide compares the two using Semrush's own pages, read on November 2, 2026, and Curve's product facts.

What Semrush's AI Visibility Toolkit does
Semrush says the toolkit “is designed for SEOs and marketers who want to monitor how their site and competitors are positioned across AI systems.” Its knowledge base lists these parts (Semrush Knowledge Base):
- Visibility Overview. “Get a benchmark of any brand's overall presence in AI search with the AI Visibility Score.” It can be read worldwide or by region.
- Competitor Research. “See how AI platforms position your competitors compared to your brand.”
- Prompt Research. Topic-level volume, difficulty and user intent. Semrush says “Think of it as keyword research for AI”.
- Brand Performance. Share of Voice, brand sentiment and “the key narratives driving your reputation”, with AI-generated recommendations.
- Prompt Tracking. “Monitor your visibility for specific, high-value prompts on platforms like Google AI Mode and ChatGPT.”
- AI Search Site Audit. “Check your website for technical issues that might prevent AI bots from crawling your content.”
On freshness, Semrush says prompt tracking is “updated daily” and Brand Performance reports are “updated weekly.” It explains that Brand Performance reports “gather a vast collection of common queries and run them through LLMs like ChatGPT and Google's AI Mode” (Semrush).
Semrush for healthcare
Semrush has a healthcare page. It says the AI Visibility Toolkit can “Monitor how AI assistants describe your providers and specialties in patient health queries, with sentiment and competitor tracking.” On patient data, its FAQ says “Semrush is a marketing research and optimization platform and does not store or process patient data” (Semrush for healthcare). The same page covers Semrush's Local Toolkit for Google Maps, local search and medical directories, and keyword research for the terms patients search.
What Curve's AI Visibility does for healthcare
AI Visibility shows how often AI assistants, including ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode, Perplexity, Claude and Gemini, name and cite your practice for the questions your patients ask. It reports three numbers: mention rate (how often AI answers name you), citation rate (how often they cite your site) and share of voice (your share of the mentions among the brands you compete with).
Here is what it does for a clinic or health system:
- Visits and bookings. It ties AI answers to the visits and bookings they bring you.
- Built for healthcare. Only the marketing question you track is sent to AI assistants, screened for PHI first, and never anything about a patient. Curve is SOC 2 Type II and signs a BAA on every plan.
- A roadmap with clinical review. It turns what it finds into a weekly roadmap sized to what your clinicians can publish, with medical topics flagged for clinical review.
- A team to run it. Curve's team can run it for you as a managed service.
- Accuracy. It catches what AI gets wrong about your practice, so you can correct it on the pages AI reads.
AI Visibility also shows where competitors are named and you aren't, who leads each topic, and which sources AI cites. It checks whether AI search can read your site, and what to fix. It measures what each published piece changes. Every week you get a plain-language summary of what changed, and a one-page report to share. See how AI answers lead to bookings.
Patient privacy
AI Visibility is built for healthcare: only the marketing question you track is sent to AI assistants, screened for PHI first, and never anything about a patient. Curve is SOC 2 Type II and signs a BAA on every plan. Which agreements your organization needs for any tool depends on what that tool receives, so talk to your counsel. Semrush and Curve, each in its own words
Semrush's column quotes its own pages, read November 2, 2026. Curve's column comes from Curve's product facts.
| Topic | Semrush says | Curve Compliance AI Visibility |
|---|---|---|
| Who it is built for | “built with SMBs, agencies, and mid-market companies in mind” (Semrush) | Healthcare: practices and clinics, health systems, and the agencies that serve them. |
| What it tracks | “Track your daily AI visibility for prompts that matter most to your business.” (Semrush) | How often AI assistants name and cite your practice for the questions your patients ask. |
| Site checks | “Audit your site for technical issues that could block AI crawlers.” (Semrush) | It checks whether AI search can read your site, and what to fix. |
| Competitors | “Identify competitive gaps and opportunities in the AI search landscape.” (Semrush) | It shows where competitors are named and you aren't, who leads each topic, and which sources AI cites. |
| Health data | “does not store or process patient data” (Semrush) | Only the marketing question you track is sent to AI assistants, screened for PHI first, and never anything about a patient. |
Using Semrush and Curve together
You can run both. Google's guidance says “No third-party tool has access to our internal ranking or AI systems.” It also says: “Use these tools if they help your workflow, but be sure to evaluate their advice against our official guidance.” (Google Search Central) So the useful split between two tools is what each one covers and what it connects the answers to.
A team might keep Semrush for keyword research, local listings, site audits and daily prompt tracking, and use Curve's AI Visibility to see how AI assistants answer its patients' questions and which visits and bookings those answers bring. Curve's weekly roadmap is sized to what your clinicians can publish, flags medical topics for clinical review, and measures what each published piece changes. What This Looks Like in Practice
In one AI Visibility program we've run, for a HIPAA-focused healthcare software brand, Curve's team tracked the questions buyers ask AI assistants, found where competitors were named and the brand wasn't, and published pages to close those gaps. About five weeks in:
- AI assistants named or cited the brand in 53% of their answers to its 40 core buyer questions (104 of 196), across ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode, Perplexity and Claude.
- Across 184 real buyer questions and 912 AI answers, its site was cited in 236 answers, more than any competitor's and more than 2.5 times as many as the nearest one (89).
- 47 of the new pages were already cited by AI assistants within six days of going live.
- One new page brought in more than half of the brand's unpaid ChatGPT visits in its first week.
