Ad Account Rescue

Meta denied our review. What now?

The notice
There is a limited number of times you can request an advertising restriction review. Once the review is completed, the decision is final.
On this page

When Meta denies an advertising restriction review, the restriction stays. Meta says that if it decides the restrictions should apply, "they'll remain in place and your account will be blocked." Take "the decision is final" at face value. Stop filing, work out which of your other assets are still in good standing, advertise only through those and through other channels, and fix what caused the restriction so the same material does not sink the next thing you run. Do not create new accounts, Pages or business portfolios to get around the decision.

Curve Compliance can help you measure the channels you move budget to: conversions go to Google Ads, TikTok, Microsoft, LinkedIn and the Meta Conversions API, and bridge tokens keep attribution through booking tools, under a BAA signed on every plan. Curve does not reverse Meta decisions or file appeals or reviews. It does not fix creative, lift restrictions or restore restricted events.

What "final" means

For an account restricted for a policy violation, Meta's help center describes one path back: an admin requests a review in Business Support Home, and Meta decides. "There is a limited number of times you can request an advertising restriction review. Once the review is completed, the decision is final." Meta also says "Requesting another review of our decision will not hurt your standing with our company in any way", so look once more at the What you can do section for the restricted asset. If it still offers a review, using it carries no penalty. If it offers nothing, the decision stands.

For a disabled ad account there is also a clock. Meta says that if it "remains ineligible for reinstatement for 6 months, any unused prepaid services may be forfeited where allowed by law. After this timeframe, the account can't be reinstated."

Which review was denied?

  • An ad. Meta says a re-reviewed ad that is rejected again "will stay rejected and you won't be able to submit another review request for the same ad." The account itself is fine. Build a genuinely different ad; see Health and wellness ad rejections.
  • An ad account. That account stays blocked. Other ad accounts in the business portfolio may be unaffected, so check each one. See a disabled Meta ad account.
  • A business portfolio, Page or personal profile. The restriction stays with that asset. When it is one person's profile, Meta notes that "other members of the business portfolio, ad account or Page, may still be able to advertise."

Why reviews get denied

A denial usually means the reviewer saw the same material that caused the restriction. If the ads, landing pages, offer or verification status are unchanged, a second look finds what the first one found. Gaps that come up often in healthcare: a landing page that still reads like an online pharmacy, prescription offers without the written permission Meta's Drugs and Pharmaceuticals policy requires, outcome or appearance claims still running in other ads, and business details that do not match across the account.

Fix those things even though the decision is final. The same pages and claims will follow you to any other asset you legitimately advertise from, and to other platforms.

What is still open

  • Assets that are not restricted. Check each ad account, Page and admin in Business Support Home under Account status overview. Use the ones in good standing, run by properly verified people, for ads that no longer contain what was flagged.
  • Other ad platforms. Google, TikTok, Microsoft and LinkedIn each apply their own healthcare rules, so read them before you move budget. Start with Google's Healthcare and medicines rejections.
  • Channels you own: search, email, referral partners and your existing organic presence.
  • Measurement. When budget moves, find out which channel produces booked patients, not just clicks, before you scale any of them.

What is not open

  • New ad accounts, Pages or business portfolios created to keep advertising after the decision. That is circumvention, and Meta enforces against it. See whether to open a new ad account.
  • Borrowed profiles from family, friends or freelancers.
  • A new domain or a rebrand for the same offer, or changing the data you send so the business looks less like healthcare.
  • Anyone who promises to reverse a final decision. Meta's help center describes no route past a completed review.

Measure what you move to

Once Meta is off the table for a while, the risk is spreading budget across channels without knowing which one books patients. If you want every platform measured against the same conversions, book a call with Curve. For the full restricted-account process, from scoping through the first review, see the restricted account recovery plan.

Where Curve Compliance fits

What Curve does

  • Sends conversions to Google Ads, TikTok, Microsoft, LinkedIn and the Meta Conversions API from one setup.
  • Keeps attribution through booking tools with bridge tokens, so booked patients are credited to the channel that sent them.
  • Signs a BAA on every plan.
  • Curve's team does the setup.

What Curve doesn't do

  • Does not reverse or challenge Meta decisions, and does not file appeals or reviews.
  • Does not get accounts back or help anyone advertise around a restriction.
  • Does not fix ad creative or landing pages.
  • Does not lift restrictions or restore events Meta has restricted.

Frequently asked questions

Can we appeal a denied review?

Meta says there is a limited number of times you can request an advertising restriction review, and once the review is completed, the decision is final. Check Business Support Home for any remaining option. If there is none, the decision stands.

Can we start a new Business Manager and try again?

No. Creating new assets to keep advertising after a restriction is circumvention, and it can draw the rest of your business into the enforcement.

Can someone else on our team run ads?

If the restriction is on one person's profile, Meta says other members of the business portfolio, ad account or Page may still be able to advertise. If it is on the ad account or portfolio, a different person does not change that.

Will moving to Google or TikTok avoid the same problem?

Only if the cause is fixed. Each platform has its own healthcare rules, and ads or landing pages that broke Meta's can be a problem there too.

Can anyone get the decision reversed?

Meta says a completed review is final. Be wary of anyone who promises otherwise.

Talk to Curve about the data side of your restriction

Curve Compliance fixes the data layer: conversions go server-side and only explicitly mapped fields leave. It does not lift a restriction or restore restricted events.
