Chiropractic marketing is how a practice gets found and chosen by the people nearby who are looking for a chiropractor, and more of that looking now happens inside AI answers from ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode and Gemini. Someone with a stiff neck asks for "the best chiropractor near me that takes my insurance," and the reply names a few practices and leaves out the rest. Curve Compliance helps chiropractic practices see whether they are among the names. AI Visibility is a feature in Curve Compliance, and Curve also offers it as a managed service. Curve AEO is the managed service: Curve's team handles the strategy, content and site fixes, with a dashboard that shows how your practice appears in AI answers and tracks progress over time.

How patients look for a chiropractor in AI assistants
AI is now part of how people pick a provider. In rater8's April 2026 survey, 47% of patients said they had used an AI tool to research healthcare providers, up from 31% in 2025. Among patients who searched for a new doctor in the past year, 36% said AI tools like ChatGPT and Claude influenced the choice, ahead of Google search results (34%) and doctor referrals (32%) (rater8, 2026 Patient Choice Report). For a chiropractor, that last comparison matters: referrals were never the whole pipeline, and now AI sits beside them.
Chiropractic demand tends to start with a problem, not a practice. In an NCCIH analysis of National Health Interview Survey data published in JAMA, 85.7% of US adults who used chiropractic care reported using it for pain management, the highest share of the seven complementary health approaches studied (Nahin, Rhee and Stussman, JAMA). Problem-first searches are where AI answers sit on top: in BrightEdge's December 2025 healthcare data, AI Overviews appeared on 98% of pain-related queries, 93% of symptom queries and 100% of treatment queries in the keyword set it tracks (BrightEdge).
People also ask AI to find someone close by. In Microsoft's analysis of more than 500,000 Copilot health conversations, finding nearby providers, clinics or specialists was the top topic within healthcare navigation, at 43.1% of that category (Microsoft AI, How people use Copilot for Health). And AI often comes before the visit itself: KFF found 16% of US adults used AI in the past year to help decide whether to see a doctor or seek care, and 19% used it to understand or compare treatment options (KFF, March 2026). For more on that patient path, see how patients use ChatGPT to find a doctor.
What patients ask AI about chiropractors
Chiropractic questions fall into a few kinds, and each one needs something different from your site. The pain question and the "near me" question get most of the attention, but the practical questions decide whether someone actually books.
| Patient question | Kind of question | What the answer needs from your site |
|---|---|---|
| best chiropractor for sciatica near me | Symptom plus place | A plain page on the reasons people come to you, your address and the neighborhoods you serve |
| chiropractor open Saturday in [city] | Practical | Hours on your site that match your Google Business Profile and directory listings |
| does [your practice] take [insurance plan] | Practice fact | A current insurance page that names the plans you accept and whether a referral is needed |
| chiropractor or physical therapist for lower back pain | Comparison | A page your chiropractors write or approve on how you work and when you refer out |
| what happens at a first chiropractic visit | Informational | A first-visit page: intake, exam, what to bring, how long it takes |
| chiropractor who works with runners in [city] | Niche | Bio pages that state each chiropractor's training, techniques and the patients they see most |
Notice what the right column has in common. None of it is a slogan. AI answers are built from facts a page states plainly, so the practice that writes down its hours, plans, first-visit steps and areas of focus gives the assistant something to repeat. The comparison row is the one where clinical review matters most: a chiropractor on your team should write or approve anything that touches care.
Where AI answers get their facts about local practices
For local healthcare questions, AI assistants lean hard on directories. Yext Research found that 52.61% of AI citations for healthcare pointed to third-party listings such as medical directories, licensing databases and insurance platforms, the heaviest listing reliance of any industry it studied (Yext Research). If your listing on a directory says you close at 5 and your site says 6, the assistant has two facts to choose from.
Google treats the plain "near me" search differently. BrightEdge reported that "near me" and provider-finding healthcare queries had 0% AI Overview coverage in its December 2025 snapshot (BrightEdge, three-year study), while a separate BrightEdge analysis put healthcare "doctor near me" queries at 11% for the same month (BrightEdge, 18-month study). The figures come from two BrightEdge studies published on different dates, so they differ, but both point the same way: Google shows few or no AI Overviews on healthcare "near me" searches, and BrightEdge reads this as Google leaving them to Maps, the local pack and organic listings. That matters because rater8 found 55% of patients searching for a new doctor start with some version of "specialty near me" (rater8). Google's guide adds that "Where appropriate, generative AI responses can include product listings, product information, and information about local businesses" (Google Search Central).
AI assistants are also far more selective than the map pack. SOCi found ChatGPT recommends just 1.2% of brand locations, against an average 35.9% appearance rate in Google's local 3-Pack, across more than 350,000 locations of multi-location brands in all industries (SOCi, 2026 Local Visibility Index). For chiropractic franchises and groups with several offices, being in the map pack is no sign you are in the answer. See AI visibility for multi-location groups.
Reviews do double duty. They feed the sources AI reads, and patients filter on them: 75% of patients in rater8's survey said they would not book with a provider rated below 4.0 stars, and 44% would not book below 4.5 (rater8). When you reply to a review, never confirm that the reviewer is a patient or mention anything about their care.
Why generic chiropractic content gets skipped
Most pages that rank for "chiropractic marketing" today are lists of tips. Google's own guide to generative AI search uses that format as its example of what not to rely on: "Commodity content (for example, something like "7 Tips for First-Time Homebuyers") is often based on common knowledge, which could originate from anyone, and typically adds little unique insight for readers" (Google Search Central). A generic "5 benefits of chiropractic care" page has the same problem. An assistant can write that page itself, so it has little reason to cite yours.
What it does need from you are the facts only you can supply, and getting them wrong sends patients elsewhere. Among patients who used AI to research providers, 66% said they had seen incorrect provider information from an AI tool, such as wrong addresses, phone numbers, insurance details or office hours, and 60% said they trusted the summary they got without verifying it (rater8). A patient who reads that you are out of network may never call to check. More on fixing this: when AI gets your practice wrong.
A chiropractic AEO checklist
- Reasons-for-visit pages. One plain page for each common reason people come in, written or approved by a chiropractor, describing what you do and who you see. No outcome promises.
- An insurance and referral page. Name the plans you accept, say whether a referral is needed, and update it when contracts change.
- A first-visit page. Intake, exam, what to wear and bring, how long the visit takes, and how to book.
- One set of practice facts everywhere. Hours, address, phone, parking and accessibility should match on your site, your Google Business Profile and every directory listing.
- Chiropractor bio pages. Degree, license, techniques, languages and the kinds of patients each chiropractor sees most.
- Pages AI search can reach. Google says a page "must be indexed and eligible to be shown in Google Search with a snippet" to be eligible as a supporting link in AI Overviews or AI Mode (Google), and OpenAI recommends "allowing OAI-SearchBot in your site's robots.txt file" to appear in ChatGPT search (OpenAI).
- Structured data that matches the page. Google lists "Making sure your structured data matches the visible text on the page" among its basics for AI features (Google).
- Check answers more than once. Ahrefs tracked about 37,500 AI citations and found 50% to 83% were gone the next day, though about 75% of those came back within 20 days (Ahrefs). One search on your phone tells you little.
If your physical therapy colleagues are working through the same list, the physical therapy marketing in AI search guide covers the referral and direct-access questions that overlap with chiropractic.
How Curve Compliance helps
AI Visibility is a feature in Curve Compliance, and Curve also offers it as a managed service. In Curve, the feature is called AI Visibility (AEO), and the managed service is Curve AEO. AI Visibility shows how often AI assistants, including ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode, Perplexity, Claude and Gemini, name and cite your practice for the questions your patients ask. For a chiropractic practice, that means seeing whether AI names you when people nearby ask for a chiropractor, and who it names instead.
What You Get with Curve AEO:
- AI Visibility Tracking. See how often your brand appears in AI-generated answers.
- Optimize Your Site for AI. We make technical improvements that help AI assistants find, read, and understand your content.
- Competitive Insights. Understand who's getting recommended instead of you.
- Content Roadmap. Identify gaps and prioritize opportunities to improve performance.
With the managed service, Curve's team sets up your questions, competitors and topics, writes the pages on your roadmap, and makes the technical fixes that help AI assistants read your site. Your clinicians review and approve anything medical before it goes live. If your developer manages your site, Curve's team hands them the exact fixes. Curve's team turns those insights into action: building your strategy, creating and optimizing content, and tracking progress.
It's built for healthcare: only the marketing question you track is sent to AI assistants, screened for PHI first, and never anything about a patient. Curve is SOC 2 Type II and signs a BAA on every plan. It ties AI answers to the visits and bookings they bring you.
In one AI Visibility program we've run, for a HIPAA-focused healthcare software brand, AI assistants named or cited the brand in more than half of their answers to its 40 core buyer questions about five weeks in. Across 184 buyer questions, its site was cited in more AI answers than any competitor's, more than 2.5 times as many as the nearest one.
Built for healthcare marketers, Curve connects the entire patient funnel in one platform: paid ads, web analytics, and now AI search. AI Visibility is available on request: book a call to get started. See AI Visibility, Curve AEO and Curve for healthcare practices.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is chiropractic marketing in AI search?
It is the work of making sure AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews and Gemini can find, understand and name your practice when people nearby ask for a chiropractor. It builds on local SEO, with more weight on clear practice facts, reviews and pages only your practice can write.
Do patients really use AI to find a chiropractor?
More are. In rater8's 2026 survey, 47% of patients said they had used an AI tool to research healthcare providers, up from 31% in 2025 (rater8).
Why is there no AI Overview when I search "chiropractor near me"?
BrightEdge found Google showed few or no AI Overviews on healthcare "near me" searches in late 2025, leaving them to Maps and local results (BrightEdge). ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Mode can still answer a request for a chiropractor nearby, so check what they say too.
What should a chiropractic website have for AI assistants?
Plain pages on the reasons people visit, your insurance and referral rules, a first-visit page, chiropractor bios, and the same hours, address and phone everywhere your practice is listed.
Can chiropractic pages make health claims to get cited?
Keep pages factual about what your practice does and who you see. A chiropractor on your team should write or approve anything clinical, and outcome promises are best left out.
Do reviews and directories affect what AI says about my practice?
Yes. For local healthcare questions, Yext found 52.61% of AI citations pointed to listings such as medical directories and insurance platforms (Yext Research), so keep every listing accurate. Reviews matter to patients too; keep patient details out of every review reply.
What does Curve's team do in Curve AEO?
With the managed service, Curve's team sets up your questions, competitors and topics, writes the pages on your roadmap, and makes the technical fixes that help AI assistants read your site. Your clinicians review and approve anything medical before it goes live. Each month, Curve's team walks you through your results on a call and sends a one-page report.
Does Curve AEO send patient data to AI assistants?
No. It's built for healthcare: only the marketing question you track is sent to AI assistants, screened for PHI first, and never anything about a patient. Curve is SOC 2 Type II and signs a BAA on every plan.
