AI Visibility shows how often AI assistants, including ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode, Perplexity, Claude and Gemini, name and cite your practice for the questions your patients ask. AI Visibility is a feature in Curve Compliance, and Curve also offers it as a managed service. Below are straight answers to 20 common questions about what it does, how it handles patient data and how Curve's team can run it for you.

The basics
What is AI Visibility?
AI Visibility shows how often AI assistants, including ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode, Perplexity, Claude and Gemini, name and cite your practice for the questions your patients ask. It ties AI answers to the visits and bookings they bring you. It turns what it finds into a weekly roadmap sized to what your clinicians can publish, with medical topics flagged for clinical review.
Is AI Visibility a feature or a managed service?
Both. Your team can use AI Visibility day to day as a feature in Curve Compliance, or Curve's team can run it for you as a managed service. See the AI Visibility managed service.
Who can get AI Visibility?
It's available to practices and clinics, health systems and multi-location groups, and agencies. Agencies can use AI Visibility for their clients, or have Curve's team run it for them. AI Visibility is available on request: book a call to get started.
What it covers
Which AI assistants does AI Visibility cover?
ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode, Perplexity, Claude and Gemini. Between them they cover the two places patients meet AI answers today: chat assistants they ask directly, and the AI features in Google Search. AI Visibility shows how often each one names and cites your practice.
Which questions does it track?
The questions your patients ask before they book: which clinic to see for a condition, what a treatment involves, or how you compare with a practice nearby. Comparison questions, where a patient names you and a rival, are worth tracking too, because they sit closest to a booking. Questions are grouped into topics, so you can see who leads each one. With the managed service, Curve's team sets up your questions, competitors and topics.
Does it show how I compare with competitors?
Yes. It shows where competitors are named and you aren't, who leads each topic, and which sources AI cites. That points you to the questions where a rival is the practice patients hear about, and to the sources behind those answers.
What it measures
What do mention rate and citation rate mean?
Mention rate is how often AI answers name you. Citation rate is how often they cite your site. The two can move apart: an answer can name you without citing your site, or cite one of your pages without naming you, so it helps to watch both. See what AI visibility is.
What is share of voice?
Share of voice is your share of the mentions among the brands you compete with. Mention rate tells you how often you appear. Share of voice tells you how you stand against the practices patients compare you with. See AI share of voice.
Does AI Visibility show visits and bookings from AI?
Yes. It ties AI answers to the visits and bookings they bring you. That is the result that matters to a practice: not only whether AI names you, but whether those answers bring in patients who book.
How do I know if a page I published worked?
It measures what each published piece changes. You can see which pages earn their place and which topics deserve the next piece, instead of guessing from a single AI answer.
Accuracy and your website
Can AI Visibility tell me when AI gets facts about my practice wrong?
Yes. It catches what AI gets wrong about your practice, so you can correct it on the pages AI reads. A wrong service, an old address or the wrong insurance in an AI answer can send a patient who was ready to book somewhere else. See what to do when AI gets your practice wrong.
Can it check whether AI can read my website?
Yes. It checks whether AI search can read your site, and what to fix. A page that AI search cannot read cannot be cited, however good it is. See the AI visibility audit for healthcare for what a full check covers.
Do we need a developer to make the fixes?
Not always. With the managed service, Curve's team makes the technical fixes that help AI assistants read your site. If your developer manages your site, Curve's team hands them the exact fixes.
Roadmap and reports
What does the roadmap recommend?
Pages to write or update for the questions where competitors are named and you aren't, and fixes that help AI assistants read your site. Each week the roadmap shows your team what to publish next. See an AI visibility content roadmap for clinicians.
How does the roadmap fit my clinicians' time?
It turns what it finds into a weekly roadmap sized to what your clinicians can publish, with medical topics flagged for clinical review. The plan matches what your team can review, so it doesn't run ahead of your clinicians. With the managed service, your clinicians review and approve anything medical before it goes live.
What reports do I get?
Every week you get a plain-language summary of what changed, and a one-page report to share. With the managed service, Curve's team also walks you through your results on a call each month.
The managed service
What does the managed service include?
With the managed service, Curve's team sets up your questions, competitors and topics, writes the pages on your roadmap, and makes the technical fixes that help AI assistants read your site. Your clinicians review and approve anything medical before it goes live.
Can an agency use AI Visibility for its clients?
Yes. Agencies can use AI Visibility for their clients, or have Curve's team run it for them. See AI visibility for healthcare marketing agencies.
Privacy and compliance
Does AI Visibility send patient data to AI assistants?
No. Only the marketing question you track is sent to AI assistants, screened for PHI first, and never anything about a patient. Curve is SOC 2 Type II and signs a BAA on every plan. A question such as which clinic treats a condition near you needs no patient details at all. See HIPAA-compliant AI visibility tracking.
Does Curve sign a BAA?
Yes. Curve signs a BAA on every plan and is SOC 2 Type II. Ask for both on your call, along with anything else your compliance team needs to review.
What This Looks Like in Practice
In one AI Visibility program we've run, for a HIPAA-focused healthcare software brand, Curve's team tracked the questions buyers ask AI assistants, found where competitors were named and the brand wasn't, and published pages to close those gaps. About five weeks in:
- AI assistants named or cited the brand in 53% of their answers to its 40 core buyer questions (104 of 196), across ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode, Perplexity and Claude.
- Across 184 real buyer questions and 912 AI answers, its site was cited in 236 answers, more than any competitor's and more than 2.5 times as many as the nearest one (89).
- 47 of the new pages were already cited by AI assistants within six days of going live.
- One new page brought in more than half of the brand's unpaid ChatGPT visits in its first week.
