Med spa AI visibility is how often ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode, Perplexity, Claude and Gemini name your med spa when someone asks for the best place nearby for Botox, fillers or laser treatments, and Curve Compliance's AI Visibility measures it for the questions your clients actually ask. It shows which med spas the answers name instead, which review and directory sites they cite, and what to publish next. AI Visibility is a feature in Curve Compliance, and Curve also offers it as a managed service.

What clients ask AI before they book
OpenAI's January 2026 report says “three in five adults in the US say they’ve used AI tools for their health or healthcare in the past three months, according to an OpenAI survey” (OpenAI). KFF's March 2026 poll found that about one in five adults used AI in the past year to “understand and compare treatment options (19%)” (KFF). Aesthetic treatments invite that kind of comparison, and Google says AI Mode is particularly helpful for queries that need “complex comparisons” (Google).
Many clients also research before they ever call. Among adults who used AI for health information, KFF found that many wanted “to look up information before deciding whether to see a provider (41%)” (KFF). KFF adds that because many search engines now show AI summaries, “much of the public may be getting AI-generated health information, even if they are not looking for it.” A client who searches for lip filler near home may read an AI answer before they see a single med spa website.
One question can also pull in many sources. Google says AI Overviews and AI Mode may use a “query fan-out” technique, “issuing multiple related searches across subtopics and data sources” to develop a response (Google). So a question about lip filler can draw on pages about who offers it nearby, what a first appointment involves and what other clients say. The questions worth watching fall into a few kinds:
| Kind of question | Example med spa question | What the answers show |
|---|---|---|
| Commercial | best place for Botox in [city] | Which med spas AI recommends when a client is ready to book |
| Local | laser hair removal near [neighborhood] | Whether AI names you in each area you serve |
| Comparison | [your med spa] vs [competitor] for lip filler | How AI describes you next to a named rival |
| Brand | does [your med spa] offer weekend consultations | Whether AI states your own facts correctly |
| Informational | what to expect at a first filler appointment | Which pages AI cites when it explains a treatment |
AI Visibility shows how often AI assistants name and cite your med spa for questions like these. It also catches what AI gets wrong about your med spa, such as a treatment you don't offer, so you can correct it on the pages AI reads.
Local questions and the sites AI cites
Most med spa questions are local, and Google is clear about what helps there. It says using Google Business Profiles can “help your products and services to be visible in both AI responses and other Google Search results” (Google), and its list of SEO basics for AI features includes “Checking that your Merchant Center and Business Profile information is up-to-date” (Google). Keep your hours, treatments and booking links current everywhere you are listed. If you run several locations, see multi-location AI visibility.
Google also says its AI features “can show what's being said about products and services across the web, including in blogs, videos, and forum discussions,” but that seeking inauthentic mentions “isn't as helpful as it might seem” (Google). So the work is real reviews, accurate listings and pages worth citing. When you reply to reviews, keep client details out of your answer.
AI Visibility shows which sources AI cites for your questions, so you can see which review sites, directories and pages of your own the answers lean on. For the wider picture, see where AI gets healthcare answers.
Who AI names instead, and why
Google explains why a distinct voice matters: “Our AI systems take a look at a variety of sources, so it can be helpful to have a unique viewpoint that stands out” (Google). It adds that “a first-hand review provides a unique perspective based on personal experience, whereas a summary of existing content simply restates information already available elsewhere.” Your injectors' own experience is that viewpoint.
Answers also differ from one assistant to the next. Google says “AI Mode and AI Overviews may use different models and techniques, so the set of responses and links they show will vary” (Google). A med spa that one assistant recommends can be missing from another's answer, so it pays to look at each.
AI Visibility puts this in three numbers: mention rate (how often AI answers name you), citation rate (how often they cite your site) and share of voice (your share of the mentions among the brands you compete with). It shows where competitors are named and you aren't, who leads each topic, and which sources AI cites.
Treatment pages and clinical review
Treatment pages carry medical detail, so they need a clinician's eye. Google's advice for AI search is to “Focus on developing unique, expert-led content that provides value beyond common knowledge” (Google). It also warns against making separate pages for every way someone might search: doing so “primarily to manipulate rankings or generative AI responses in Google Search violates Google's scaled content abuse spam policy” (Google). One strong page per treatment, written or approved by your medical director or injectors, serves clients better than a dozen thin ones.
AI Visibility turns what it finds into a weekly roadmap sized to what your clinicians can publish, with medical topics flagged for clinical review. It measures what each published piece changes, so your team can see which treatment pages made a difference. For pacing a roadmap around clinicians, see an AI visibility roadmap your clinicians can keep up with.
From AI visits to booked consults
Google says that “when people click from search results pages with AI Overviews, these clicks are higher quality (meaning, users are more likely to spend more time on the site)” (Google). For a med spa, the visit that counts is the one that ends in a booked consult.
AI Visibility ties AI answers to the visits and bookings they bring you, so you see consults, not just mentions. For walk-ins and online bookings side by side, see med spa attribution.
AI Visibility is built for healthcare: only the marketing question you track is sent to AI assistants, screened for PHI first, and never anything about a patient. Curve is SOC 2 Type II and signs a BAA on every plan. See HIPAA-compliant AI visibility tracking.
How Curve Compliance helps
AI Visibility is a feature in Curve Compliance, and Curve also offers it as a managed service. With the managed service, Curve's team sets up your questions, competitors and topics, writes the pages on your roadmap, and makes the technical fixes that help AI assistants read your site. Your clinicians review and approve anything medical before it goes live.
Every week you get a plain-language summary of what changed. Each month, Curve's team walks you through your results on a call and sends a one-page report. AI Visibility is available on request: book a call to get started. See AI Visibility and the AI Visibility managed service.
In one AI Visibility program we've run, for a HIPAA-focused healthcare software brand, AI assistants named or cited the brand in more than half of their answers to its 40 core buyer questions about five weeks in. Across 184 buyer questions, its site was cited in more AI answers than any competitor's, more than 2.5 times as many as the nearest one.
Curve Compliance also tracks the consults themselves. Curve replaces browser ad pixels with one script, sends conversions server-side to Meta, Google Ads, TikTok, Microsoft Advertising and LinkedIn, and strips PHI before data reaches an ad platform. It keeps ad attribution when a client leaves to book in Boulevard, Vagaro, Mindbody or Square, and bookings made days later still match. Its team sets up the ad tracking for you. See Curve for med spas and HIPAA-compliant conversion tracking for med spas.
