Curve Compliance vs Ours Privacy: BAA, Tracking and Setup

Compare Curve Compliance and Ours Privacy on BAA terms, setup, what reaches ad platforms and booking attribution, from each company's own pages.

10 min read

The main difference between Curve Compliance and Ours Privacy is who runs it: Curve's team sets up HIPAA-compliant ad tracking for you and follows each ad click to the booked and completed visit, while Ours Privacy is a healthcare customer data platform that, it says, marketers can manage on their own. Ours Privacy puts consent, tag management, analytics and many destinations in one place. Both send conversions from their own servers instead of browser pixels. Both sign a BAA: Curve Compliance on every plan, and Ours Privacy, it says, with every client. Choose Curve Compliance when you want the setup and the scheduler and EHR connections done for you, with campaign reporting on booked and completed visits, typically live in about a week.

Which one signs a BAA, and on which plan

Both do. Curve Compliance signs a BAA on every plan, Compliance, Growth and Enterprise, before live tracking begins, and Enterprise plans can use custom BAA terms. See Curve's BAA Directory entry and Curve's plans.

Ours Privacy says on its Signed BAAs page: "As part of every contract, we will accept redlines and sign a BAA with all of the organizations we work with." Its Trust Center adds that every client "receives a signed Business Associate Agreement (BAA) as part of onboarding, covering all products and features on the platform," and that it maintains signed BAAs with every vendor that handles PHI. On its plans page, Essential lists the "Ours Privacy BAA with minimal redlines," and Core, Enterprise and Enterprise+ list "Custom BAA available."

So on the BAA itself, the two are close. What matters more is what a BAA covers. Each one covers the data that vendor handles for you, and HIPAA requires a written agreement with each business associate under 45 CFR 164.502(e). Your scheduler, CRM and other tools that handle patient data need their own, and the BAA Directory shows which tools in a healthcare stack sign one. Meta and Google Ads don't sign one at all, which is why both companies strip health details before anything reaches an ad platform. For your own agreements, talk to your counsel.

Who does the setup

This is the clearest difference. Ours Privacy is built for your team to run. Its FAQ says "Minimal engineering lift is needed" and "most teams are live in under two weeks," and that "Marketers can manage Ours Privacy autonomously." Most teams install it through its Google Tag Manager approach, it says, with JavaScript and API options for advanced setups. Its home page cites "2-3 day implementations for basic setups," and its plans page lists onboarding on every plan and white-glove implementation on Core and above. Ours Privacy also says it creates conversion events for you directly inside the ad platforms, which saves your team a manual step.

Curve Compliance is done for you. Curve's team installs the one script that replaces your browser ad pixels, maps each conversion for each ad platform, and connects your scheduler, EHR and CRM with you. Most customers are live in about a week; it varies case by case. Curve's team also goes through what your site sends to Meta, Google and TikTok with you and shows what is likely to trigger a flag. For a clinic or telehealth brand that wants the setup handled for it, there is no project to staff.

What reaches Meta, Google and other ad platforms

Ours Privacy's destinations page lists dozens of server-side destinations: ad platforms such as Google Ads, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn, Reddit, Snapchat, Bing Ads and OpenAI Ads, plus analytics tools, CRMs such as HubSpot and Salesforce, and warehouses such as Snowflake and Google BigQuery. On filtering, Ours Privacy's FAQ says "By default, all data is redacted and must be manually enabled per destination," and that data "can be redacted, renamed, hashed, or otherwise anonymized" before it is sent. Its Google Ads docs say "Ours Privacy proxies all events through the server, so Google does not directly interact with your clients' browsers or receive their IP addresses."

Curve Compliance sends conversions server-side to Meta Conversions API, Google Ads, TikTok, Microsoft Advertising, LinkedIn and ChatGPT Ads, and every Curve plan includes access to all integrations. Each platform has a fixed list of permitted fields, so a field that is not on the list cannot leave, whatever the event contains:

  • Page details. Meta receives the site address only, with no page path or query string. Page titles, free text and form answers are never sent.
  • Contact identifiers. Off by default, and hashed with SHA-256 when switched on for a platform.
  • Event names. Events can use neutral names that don't reveal a condition or a treatment.
  • Last-moment checks. Any remaining value that looks like an email address is dropped at the moment of sending.
  • PHI-like patterns. A condition name in a URL, a form answer or an email in a URL is flagged before data reaches an ad platform, so it can be stopped at the source.
  • Event Logs. They show what Curve sent to each platform and what the platform accepted.

Attribution to booked appointments and revenue

Ours Privacy's Analytics Suite offers "multi-touch attribution" alongside web analytics, session replay and user funnels, as "a compliant, native analytics and attribution alternative to GA4." Its sources page lists scheduling and EHR sources including Calendly, Cal.com, OnceHub, NexHealth, Healthie and Tellescope, CRMs including HubSpot, Salesforce and GoHighLevel, and call tracking including CallRail. For EHRs, Ours Privacy says it "integrates with 100+ Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems through our specialized integration partner, using HL7/FHIR standards," including Epic and Athena Health, to "track the complete patient journey from first click to clinical outcome," after a "consultative discovery process" (EHR integrations).

Curve Compliance is built to credit each booking and each visit to the ad that started it. Plain booking links to IntakeQ, Calendly, Acuity, Jane App, OptiMantra, Boulevard, ZocDoc, Mindbody, Vagaro, Square, Setmore or Booker keep the ad click automatically, and a booking made days after the click still matches it. Curve's team sets up embedded booking widgets and GoHighLevel funnels. Outcomes then come back through incoming webhooks from booking systems, CRMs and call tracking, through Keragon connections to EHR and intake tools such as Healthie, Athenahealth, OptiMantra, IntakeQ and Jane, or through an offline upload from a CRM or EHR. Curve credits each one to the original ad click, so your campaigns can learn from booked and completed visits, not just form fills.

Campaign Reporting then puts Meta and Google Ads spend next to those conversions, campaign by campaign, with five attribution models, the list of conversions behind any number, and a single prospect's journey from ad click to booking. HubSpot and WhatConverts outcomes show as CRM revenue and close rate. Curve's healthcare integrations lists the connections, and HIPAA compliant scheduling software shows which schedulers sign a BAA.

Which should you choose?

Both are built for healthcare and both sign a BAA. Pick by how your team works and what you need to measure.

  • A clinic or practice: Curve Compliance, if no one on your team will run a data platform. Curve's team does the setup, connects the scheduler you already use, and shows which campaigns fill appointments.
  • A telehealth brand: Curve Compliance, when you want each ad click followed through intake, scheduling and the completed visit, with spend reported against booked and completed visits. See Curve Compliance for telehealth.
  • A marketing agency: Curve Compliance lets you manage every client account from one dashboard, with Curve's team doing each client's setup and a BAA on every plan. See Curve for agencies. Ours Privacy says agencies can manage multiple client accounts, each with its own brands and web SDKs (multi-brand guide).
  • A team that wants one platform to run in-house: Ours Privacy is a strong fit if you want one CDP with a server-side tag manager, A/B testing and many destinations, including CRMs and data warehouses, and your team wants to operate it. Ours Privacy says it serves "over 200 healthcare organizations."

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between Curve Compliance and Ours Privacy?

Curve Compliance is HIPAA-compliant ad tracking that Curve's team sets up for you, built to credit bookings and completed visits to the ads that brought each patient in. Ours Privacy is a healthcare customer data platform that, it says, marketers can manage on their own, with consent, tag management, analytics and many destinations. Both sign a BAA and send conversions server-side.

Is Ours Privacy HIPAA compliant?

Ours Privacy describes itself as "a HIPAA-compliant CDP + privacy platform." It says it signs a BAA with every client, holds SOC 2 Type II, and hosts data on AWS in the US. No tool makes an organization HIPAA compliant on its own, though. That also depends on how you configure it and on BAAs with your other vendors.

Does Ours Privacy sign a BAA?

Yes. Its FAQ answers "Yes." to "Will you sign a BAA?", and its Signed BAAs page says it will "accept redlines and sign a BAA with all of the organizations we work with." Its plans page lists the Ours Privacy BAA on Essential and a custom BAA on Core and above.

Does Curve Compliance sign a BAA?

Yes, on every plan, before live tracking begins, and Enterprise plans can use custom BAA terms. Curve's BAA covers the data Curve handles for you. Your scheduler, CRM and other tools that handle patient data each need their own.

How long does it take to set up Curve Compliance or Ours Privacy?

Ours Privacy says most teams are live in under two weeks and that basic setups can be implemented in two to three days, with your marketing team running it after onboarding. Curve's team does the whole setup for you, and most customers are live in about a week.

Can Curve Compliance credit booked appointments to my ads?

Yes. Curve carries the ad click into schedulers such as IntakeQ, Calendly, Acuity, Jane App and ZocDoc, so a booking made days later still matches, and credits completed visits that come back from your EHR or CRM through a webhook, Keragon or an offline upload.

What is the best Ours Privacy alternative?

For a healthcare team that wants setup done for them and each ad click credited through the scheduler and EHR to the completed visit, Curve Compliance is the alternative built for that, with a BAA on every plan. To compare a third option, see Freshpaint vs Ours Privacy vs Curve Compliance and Freshpaint alternatives for healthcare.

Can I switch from Ours Privacy to Curve Compliance?

Yes. Curve's team rebuilds the conversions your campaigns optimize toward, connects your scheduler and EHR with you, and moves one ad platform at a time so no conversion is sent twice. Book a call to plan it.
